Thanks for the invitation to your first “The inspired life workshop with Kate and Tanya”.
I almost enjoyed the green smoothie, which surprised me at the time, I thought I was not much into drinking “green” but now I am about to dust off my blender and try one for breakfast.
I work a lot with the self talk and inner dialogue in my communication workshops and coaching. I loved your suggestion to focus the discussion with the “mind” and/or the “body” - mind, will you beat me up about this later… etc. Also, your Hunger Scale. This is the first time I have seen a matrix to measure our hunger level. It’s very helpful. Great stuff Tanya.
Lovely studio too. Keep up the good work.

I always enjoy Nathan’s enthusiastic good humored approach to our training sessions plus he takes the time to explain the correct technique and reason for targeting a particular exercise in our sessions.

Since starting training with Strive, I have lost weight, and gained additional strength and endurance. I have found Tanya to be a good trainer, who pushes her clients to reach the best they can do. I would recommend and refer my friends and family to Strive in a heartbeat.

Strive pushes me to achieve results and encourages me to do my best, regardless of how big or little my ‘best’ is. Strive always acknowledges hard work and I can see my fitness levels improving. The programs have been great catering to my interest in particular exercises, e.g. boxing.

Since beginning training with Strive I have definitely gained a better understanding of exercise and diet. I only had a few kilos to lose but I wanted to tone-up and lose some much unwanted cellulite. Through the tailored regime I am reaching my goal, however, I now better understand that I won’t achieve results overnight and, that I need to look at exercise and healthy eating as a long term part of my life. I now love exercising because Ive seen that over time I can gain the results I want. It’s definitely changed my daily routine for the better and provided me with more realistic goals for my body.
I initially thought that only training twice a week for 30 minutes at a time wasn’t enough, however I quickly learnt that it was plenty; the time is so workable for my busy schedule and only having to do it for 30 minutes doesn’t make me dread my training times. I receive cardio homework to do in my own time but I have a coach for when Im performing weights. Tanya has also now incorporated Pilates into my regime to gain better results as well as assist with existing injuries. The great thing about my trainer is that she is always happy to change an exercise if I am getting bored or not getting the results I should; each session is different!
Overall this is a fantastic and workable exercise regime which gives you realistic goals and a better understanding of why and how your body reacts the way it does, to both exercise and diet. If you want to change overnight, then this isn’t for you, but if you want an exercise and diet overhaul which is flexible with realistic goals and long term results, then you should definitely try this!

When I needed to make changes in my life to improve my health and fitness, I started working out with Tanya Gendle.
With Tanya’s guidance, support and motivation I have lost more than 20 kgs, got my health and fitness back and developed a strong and positive relationship with my body. I decided to work out to lose some weight that had crept up on me, protect myself from family problems, such as heart disease and diabetes, and learn healthy, attainable exercise habits.
I started working out at lunchtime boxing classes held at my workplace 12 months ago that were run by Tanya. When I needed to take my exercise to the next level and get that extra kick up the pants, I started personal training with Tanya. Tanya has her own great studio in Deakin, and offers a challenging variety of exercise and training options to suit any body and any shape. She’s also extremely knowledgable about diet and nutrition, and has a sensible and realistic holisitic approach to health and fitness. Tanya has also helped me create a home workout environment that I can use when I move overseas this week.
Tanya has taught me some valuable lessons that I reflect on daily:
My body is my most valuable asset, and if it’s not working properly, I can’t work properly.
Exercise needs to be, and can easily be, a regular part of your day. It doesn’t have to be complex or convoluted. You can get a great workout in a small space. I’m proof of that!
You can eat butter and still lose weight – it’s all about moderation, eating right, snacking occasionally and shifting your butt off the couch!
Tanya has been a major force in the significant, positive changes made in my life in the past 12 months. She’s motivating, supportive and understanding. If you’re committed to making changes in your life and are looking for that extra guiding hand, get in touch with Tanya Gendle. You won’t look back!

I started training with Tanya, in January 2008. I was depressed with how I looked and apprehensive about training, having never really exercised in my adult life.
My second child was 16 months old and I was in a rut. An additional hurdle for me, self imposed, was me being vegan.
My goal was to shed 12kg, lose the nanna bags under my arms, reduce the size of my thunderous thighs and develop some much overdue muscle tone.
I train with Tanya two mornings a week. I’m not always thrilled to see her, Winter was especially hard but I’m always pleased I’ve done a challenging workout by 7.30am. So now it’s October 2008. I’m only 1kg away from my goal weight. Tanya’s introduced me to boxing, which is a very useful way to vent frustration. My nutrition is much better, thanks to Tanya. I keep a food diary that has me on the straight and narrow (another Tanya initiative). Tanya is personable, professional, funny and knows my limitations are much higher than I think they are! Who would have thought I’d consider my Personal Trainer a friend?

I have undertaken a personal training regime with Tanya Gendle for a period of approximately 3 months. I have found her to be a very competent, supportive and inspiring personal trainer. She has helped me in the areas of personal fitness and nutrition, and I have come a long way towards reaching my own personal goals under her guidance. She has been a great support to me throughout my training sessions both emotionally and physically as I had made these changes to reaching my goals.
I would recommend undergoing a training schedule with Tanya to anyone serious about improving their physical fitness and wellbeing.
